Showcase your talent, train with Elite Serie A coaches, and seize the opportunity to play at the highest levels of football. The Serie A Talent ID program allows you to present your skills to Italian clubs under the guidance of top coaches and scouts from Lega Serie A and the Rome City Institute. This program is a key part of our talent identification in youth soccer initiative, giving young athletes the chance to be noticed by professional clubs. Our youth soccer scouting efforts focus on identifying emerging talent. Through our Serie A Talent ID camp, we offer a prime opportunity for players looking to take the next step in their soccer careers.

Talent ID Camps Steps

Regional Selections

Register for one of our Talent ID camps across North America to showcase your skills. Our camps feature tactical assessments, technical drills, and exhibition matches. Our scouts evaluate each participant to identify individuals advancing to the next stage.

Individual Assessments

Each attending player and their family will meet individually with our staff to discuss future opportunities, allowing our team to understand players' backgrounds and ambitions while families explore available programs and pathways.

Camp Outcome

All participants will receive an email detailing the outcome of the camp. We offer various pathways and programs tailored to provide each player with options to experience Italian football, taking into account their age, skill level, and ambitions.

POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

Serie A Experience

Each year, two groups of approximately 24 players will be invited to Italy for a week to compete against professional clubs and train at our academy. One group will travel in March, while the other will go in December, depending on players’ availability and schedules.

Summer Experience

Groups of players will be invited to participate in an intensive training camp at our professional soccer academy in June or July. This one- or two-week camp offers the opportunity to train in a highly professional environment with UEFA-licensed coaches while experiencing the city of Rome.

Rome City Institute

Selected players will receive scholarship offers to attend Rome City Institute. Depending on their age, players may be invited to join one of the following programs: high school, gap year/semester, or undergraduate. Each program combines an accredited education with the opportunity to play soccer in our professional academy in Rome, Italy.

“For me this camp and program represented a path for my dreams in football. I want to live the sport and see where it takes me. The Serie A Elite camp was the perfect opportunity to showcase in front of experienced coaches and I am happy to have the opportunity to play in Rome. I expect ups and downs throughout the season. I know there will be times when I need to dig deep but I hope to grow as a player and learn as much as I can from the experience of the players and coaches around me. Matthew attended Serie A Elite ID camp, then invited to Serie A Experience and now moved to Rome to join our Prep Academy where he combines education with soccer. Reason for choosing: After attending the Serie A Experience, I realized moving to Italy was the right choice to develop into the best I can be. Attending Rome City Prep Academy gives me an opportunity to play the sport that I love, in the country that I’ve always dreamed of playing in. Expectations: I expect from this new journey to develop as a player and person and get the European player experience as I’ve always played soccer in America. My goals and hopes for the future are to hopefully play pro in Italy if that’s a possibility for me. Thoughts and emotions: I thought it was great being a part of the project. I really enjoyed the opportunity to play in new places and to verse such high-level teams while also meeting new people.

Ferdinando, a New York native, attended our ID camps in 2022 and 2023 before receiving a scholarship offer to join our high school program in Rome. In Italy, he has had the opportunity to try out for Serie A club SSC Napoli and sign with a local Italian club.

Before joining Rome City, Emily played in NCAA Divison II at Colorado State of Mines, where she completed her undergraduate. While completing the Master in Sport Management and Coaching with Rome City Institute, Emily signed for Empoli, a professional club which competes in Serie B, second top division in the nation. With Empoli, Emily won the league and got promoted to Serie A. After playing another season with Empoli in Serie A,Emily then moved to DBK Fortuna in Denmark where she played in the Champions League. The year after she moved to Napoli in Serie A and now is playing with Australia in the A league.
